Updates
How Mach Studio keeps itself up to date, how to check for a new version, and where to find the version you are running.
Mach Studio updates itself. It checks for new releases when it starts and keeps checking while it runs, so you get fixes and new features without visiting a download page.
How updates arrive
- Mach Studio finds a new release and downloads it in the background.
- When the download is ready, an Update available card appears in the sidebar. Click Restart to install it.
- If you would rather wait, keep working. The update installs the next time you restart to update, or when you quit if you turn on Install on quit.
Notifications can ping you when an update is ready: turn on App updates in Settings → Notifications.
Check for updates
Open Settings → Updates and click Check for updates. If a new version is waiting, click Download update, then Restart to update. Release notes appear under What's new once an update is found.
Choose how updates install
In Settings → Updates:
- Download automatically fetches new releases as soon as they are available. It is on by default. Turn it off to confirm each download yourself.
- Install on quit applies a downloaded update the next time you quit Mach Studio. It is off by default, so you are asked to restart instead.
Find your version
Settings → Updates shows the version you are running under Version, along with when Mach Studio last checked for updates.
