Privacy
Your chats, models, and keys stay on your computer. Usage analytics are anonymous and optional.
Mach Studio is built local-first. When you use a local model, nothing about the conversation leaves your computer.
What stays on your computer
- Your chats, prompts, and generated files are stored locally.
- Local models run entirely on your computer. Selecting a local model never uploads the conversation.
- API keys and sign-ins are encrypted and protected by your computer's keychain.
- We never use the contents of your local conversations to train models.
What leaves your computer, and when
Only the features you choose to use talk to a server. Cloud models send your request to the service that runs the model. Hosted integrations and web tools send what they need to complete the action you asked for. Signing in exchanges account details with Syzygy. Beyond that, the only background traffic is update checks and the optional usage analytics described below.
Usage analytics
Mach Studio can send anonymous usage events that show which features are used and where coarse error categories occur. They are tied to a random installation identifier, never to your account or user id, and they never include conversations, prompts, file contents, paths, commands, logs, hardware details, or error messages. Runs on local models emit no run-scoped usage events at all.
Analytics are on by default outside Europe and always off in Europe. To change the setting, open Settings → Privacy and use the Share usage analytics switch. You can turn it off at any time.
