Your data
See where Mach Studio keeps its data, how much space it uses, and how to free some up safely.
Open Settings → Data & Storage to see where Mach Studio stores its data on your computer and to free up space. Clearing the cache never touches your chats or skills.
Locations
- Data folder is where Mach Studio keeps its data. Click Reveal to open it.
- Logs folder holds the diagnostic logs the app writes. Click Reveal to open it, for example when you are asked for logs in a support request.
Worktrees
Chats started in a new worktree keep a checkout of your repository on this computer. The Worktrees list shows each one with its repository, branch, and the chats that use it.
Click Offload to remove the clean checkout and free disk space. The session, its chats, and the local branch stay, and the worktree is restored automatically the next time you send a message in it.
A worktree cannot be offloaded while it has uncommitted or untracked changes, while a chat in it is still running, or while a terminal is open in it. Pinned sessions stay on disk: unpin the session first.
Disk usage
The Disk usage group tallies the space used by each part of Mach Studio, including the local runtime, skills, logs, and cache, with a Total at the top. Cache and runtime caches are normally the largest. Click Refresh to recount.
Clear cache
Under Maintenance, click Clear cache to wipe transient caches. The status line tells you how much space was freed. Chats and skills are never affected. Restart Mach Studio afterward so the cache rebuilds cleanly.
