Find and download a model
Browse the Syzygy catalog and Hugging Face in one place, filter to models that fit this computer, and install with one click.
Open Local models in the sidebar and choose Browse. One grid mixes the curated Syzygy catalog with live search results from Hugging Face, so you can go from "I want a coding model" to a running model in a couple of minutes.
The Browse view
- Type in Search models to search Hugging Face by name, author, or tag.
- Every card shows the maker, download size, and a memory badge: Fits or May be tight. The catalog model that best suits this computer is marked Recommended.
- Click Install to download a model. A progress bar appears on the card, with Cancel if you change your mind.
- Click a card for details: description, specs, files, and a Memory fit summary. Some models offer a Quantization choice; the default is the best balance for this computer. Start this model runs it once installed.
- Not ready to download? Use the bookmark to Save for later and it waits in your library.
Filters and sorting
Click + Filter to narrow the grid. Filters appear as chips you can remove one at a time, or all at once with Clear all.

The Sort menu offers Featured (catalog models first, then trending), Most downloaded, Most liked, and Recently updated. Click View more at the bottom to load the next batch.
Only show models that fit
The Fits this computer filter is on by default. It hides models that are too large for this computer's memory or that the local engines cannot run, and tells you how many it hid. Remove the chip to see everything, including models marked Not supported.
Gated Hugging Face models
Some models on Hugging Face are gated: the author asks you to accept their terms before you can download. To install one in Mach Studio:
- Open the model's details and click View on Hugging Face. Accept the terms on the model page while signed in to your Hugging Face account.
- In Mach Studio, open Settings → Inference, find Hugging Face account, and click Sign in with Hugging Face.
- Return to Browse and click Install.
Signing in also lifts the anonymous download limits, so large downloads finish faster. Gated models are left out of the default Browse grid; search for one by name to find it.
