Manage your library
Start and stop local models, tune how they run, free up disk, and bring in models you already have.
Open Local models in the sidebar and choose Library. Every model you have installed or saved is here, with a search box to filter the list. Each card has a Start or Stop action, and the … menu holds everything else.
Start and Stop
Click Start to load a model into memory. The card reads Starting… and then Running, and the model becomes the active local model for chat. Only one local model runs at a time, so starting another one swaps it in.
Click Stop to unload the model and give the memory back. You rarely need to: picking a local model in the composer starts it for you on send, and Settings → Inference lets you set Auto-start on app launch and Idle auto-stop so the engine comes up and winds down on its own.
The Server page shows the running model's live throughput, memory use, and logs.
Runtime options
Choose Runtime options from a card's menu to tune how the model runs. The defaults come from the model and the engine, so most people never touch them.
- Temperature, Top-p, and Max response tokens set the default sampling for every chat with this model.
- Context length sets how much conversation the model keeps in view. Longer contexts use more memory.
- Advanced holds engine-level controls for people who know what they are changing.
Changes save instantly. If the model is running, the sheet reads Saved · Restart to apply: stop and start it to pick up the new settings.
Offload
Offload deletes the model's files from disk but keeps it in your library as a saved model. Use it when you are short on space but expect to want the model again: the card stays in place with a one-click Download to bring it back. A running or downloading model cannot be offloaded; stop it first.
Delete
Delete removes the downloaded files and the saved entry. Use it for models you are done with. You can always find the model again in Browse. For an imported folder, Delete only removes Mach Studio's registration; your original files are untouched.
Import
Click Import at the top of the library to add a model folder you already have on this computer, for example one downloaded with another tool. Mach Studio reads the folder in place without copying it, checks that the files are complete and supported, and adds the model to your library ready to Start. Imported models show Imported as their maker.
