A tour of the app

The sidebar, workspace tabs, the composer, and where Settings and Extensions live.

Mach Studio has one main window. Your sessions live in the sidebar, the active session fills the rest, and Settings and Extensions are a click away.

The sidebar

The sidebar lists your sessions, with Pinned at the top, Sessions below, and Archived at the bottom. New session (Cmd+T) starts a fresh chat, Local models opens the model library, and Extensions opens skills, integrations, harnesses, and automations. Press Cmd+K to Search Chats by title or message content, and Cmd+B to hide or show the sidebar. The footer holds Sign in with Syzygy (or your account menu once signed in), Usage, and Settings. See Workspace.

Workspace tabs

Each session has a tab bar across the top. Click + to open a Side Chat, Browser, Terminal, Files, Changes, or Summary tab alongside your chat. Drag a tab to place it beside another and work side by side, and use the side pane button in the top right to open or close the right-hand pane. Cmd+W closes the current tab. See Review changes.

The composer

The composer sits at the bottom of every chat. The controls under it set the project folder, the Harness, and the model for the chat, and the mode menu switches between Chat, Plan, and Agent. Type @ to add context and / to run commands, attach images, or use voice input. See The composer.

Settings

Click the gear in the sidebar footer or press Cmd+, to open Settings. Pages are grouped into General (General, Appearance, Notifications, Keyboard Shortcuts, Remote Control), Agent (Inference, Tools, Integrations, Browser Use, Computer Use), Data & Privacy (Privacy, Data & Storage), and About (Updates, Legal). Use the search field at the top to jump straight to a setting, and Back to Chats to return. See Settings and Keyboard shortcuts.

Extensions

Click Extensions in the sidebar to open Skills, Integrations, Harnesses, and Automations. Skills teach the agent repeatable workflows, integrations connect it to apps like Slack and Gmail, harnesses add Claude Code, Codex CLI, and OpenCode, and automations run work on a schedule. See Skills, Integrations, Harnesses, and Automations.
