Cloud environments (Pro)

Hosted workspaces that Mach Studio runs for you, with their own disk and chats, available from every device signed in to your account.

A cloud environment is a workspace that Mach Studio hosts for you. It has its own disk, its own projects, and its own chats, and it keeps working whether or not your laptop is open. Cloud sessions run on Mach Studio's cloud models and use your included credits.

Cloud environments are part of Pro. Creating and waking one needs an active Pro plan.

What a cloud environment is

  • Yours and persistent. Your files, chats, and agent sessions stay on the environment's disk between uses.
  • Asleep until needed. An idle environment suspends on its own. Sending a message wakes it, and reading past chats never does.
  • On every device. Any computer or browser signed in to your account sees the environment and its chats. There is no pairing step.
  • Built for a repository. Give it a GitHub repository when you create it, and the agent works in that checkout.

Create a cloud environment

Cloud environments are created on the web dashboard. Open it from either place:

  • In the composer, open the Environment picker and choose New cloud environment… under Cloud.
  • In Settings → Remote Control, click Manage cloud environments.

On the dashboard:

  1. Click New cloud environment.
  2. Give it a Name.
  3. Optionally choose a Repository. Connect GitHub first if you have not already.
  4. Click Create.

The environment shows Setting up for a few minutes, then Running. When you return to Mach Studio, it appears under Cloud in the Environment picker.

Manage from the dashboard

The Environments page lists each environment with its state and creation date. Each row's menu offers:

  • Rename… to change its name.
  • Variables… to set environment variables for everything the agent runs there.
  • Start over… to try a fresh sandbox if the environment failed to start. Your devices keep their access.
  • Delete… to remove the environment, its workspace, and its chats. Access ends right away. The disk is kept for a limited time in case of a mistake, then erased.

If a row offers Retry setup, click it to finish preparing the environment without starting over.
